2024 RULES: Anti-Tanking
Re: 2024 RULES: Anti-Tanking
I love robroach's idea and would like to expand on it. No NFL team has ever had more than 4 first round picks and no NFL team has had more than 15 total picks. To see teams here with 7+ first round picks is ridiculous. To make this as realistic as possible I think there should be a cap on first rounders and total number of picks. Something like max 5 first round picks and 18 total picks.

Totally disagree with any kind of cap on how many picks a team can have. I know Fan GM tries to simulate what the NFL does but there are a lot of things that don't compare. Salaries are no where near what the NFL pays other than draft picks. Trade values are totally different also for example Justin Fields is fixing to get traded for at best a 2nd....there is no way any GM trades him for a 2nd...they will want at least 2 1st! So trying to put restrictions on how any GM wants to manage his team is ridiculous.
Re: 2024 RULES: Anti-Tanking
Just chiming in here to say that I wouldn't even give up a 2nd for Fields at this point, so there really is a huge variance in value opinions.

Re: 2024 RULES: Anti-Tanking
CONCLUSION: We won't make any big changes here but will be quicker to replace absent GMs with fill-in ones from other leagues, and have a list of volunteers for that per the check-in questions. We'll also attempt to make some adjustments to the game simulator to help with the sim coach making it more difficult to hide players off the depth chart, such as bringing in any QB (whether he's in the depth chart or not) in certain situations if team behind and starting NFL QB with good stats on the bench to take over for that sim coach and sim players trying to win even if the front office is intentionally hoping to lose. We already do that for QB2 and bringing in two RB/WRs and returners beyond the depth chart now.

I’m not applying for AFFL anymore! When you have GMs in that league that I continuously beat in other leagues but get picked over for whatever reason is crazy! I’m with Tino though. If active let the person do what is best for their team.
