Yeah, I would agree. Especially with the draft as that is always right around the real draft but we have such a diversity of people with computer jobs and without and those who have more time on the weekdays versus weekends.Jared A wrote:Something we should strive for next year, is set a date for free agency for 2011 six months in advance. I know it won't be the same as real life, and I know we need time. But, we could say April 1st is the first day of free agency every year... then at least people know it.
Free agency is a little different because of the varying degree of rules discussions that might either involve no changes or a ton of changes. But it would be ideal, yeah. I tried to set a date for friday a while back but then encountered a lot of feedback as it approached. Tried to get some date conflict information in the check-in process but only knew of Nathan's time away before this week.
Scheduling does become a mess with so many people and such diversity, and I would like to avoid that in the future and everybody just knows when it starts. I think we can get there with the draft eventually and maybe free agency too some time despite a lot of work needing to happen (and sometimes different amounts of work from year to year) before we can get rosters setup for a new season.
