Remember, only 1 LTC per team per year. Eligible players are those entering free agency (up until we start our free agency) and those on their last year under contract. A player will be paid the average of top 10 guys at his same position around his same grade. This is different from tagging as the salary isn't top 5 in the NFL overall, but based upon what similar players should be making. With longer LTC higher SB. With short LTC (2- and 3-year), there is a no-trade clause for one year.

Sign carefully. No short LTC with no-trade and then later deciding you want to really trade him afterall months later and trying to change it then.
This looks great.

Next question - when can we restructure contracts?

That's next on my list. A couple things in the way of that are making sure our new creations (our franchise automatic extensions and LTC deals can't be immediatly restructured) and switching over the free agency tracking data as it looks at that to prevent free agency signings to be immediately restructured. Definitely will be able to before free agency. Hoping today depending upon how travel goes.

Troy,

You are aware that the 5 year contract are just giving out 200%, right?

Sounds good.

Also, the LTC tool isn't applying the right signing bonus amount for a lot of the deals. Instead of the % amount it is often just applying 100%.

I'll have to get in an fix the ones earlier today that didn't get in right. Believe it's correct now for new signings.

The four year SB's were working correctly. If you didn't already know that.

Can someone remind me how the salary cap works in the offseason? I know in the NFL, teams must be under the cap once FA starts and must stay under the cap. Things might be a little stranger here with cap carryover and the ability to borrow against the cap, but do we have the same requirement?

Normally, right now I don't have all the means of cutting salary (contract restructures) on yet and nobody is bidding on anything against others yet. All tools will be available by then and teams will have to be under, but we do allow a little more flexibility in the free agency period due to teams not sure if someone will match an offer or not, etc.

Is there any possibility of having a 'no offer' option for guys who fall into the RFA category?

In CFFL, I have Andrew Hawkins as a RFA. He's potentially a nice player, but he's not worth the $1.26m a year that has been automatically assigned to him. My only options, as far as I can see, are either to keep him at $1.26m a year or cut him and then bid on him. I'll probably end up doing the latter, but it means that I'm actually worse off than if he had been an UFA.
