no, you get one of each... there's a franchise tag (as shown on your roster)

and

an LTC

The contract options for LTCs and tags are similar (from 2-year to 5-year with same corresponding SB % and no-trade provisions for 2-3 year short deals), but with LTCs the annual salary is based upon being paid like those at your same position and similar grade versus top 5 salary in all of football at the position (for franchise tag). http://www.fangm.com/football/ltc-check.php We had a poll this off-season about making tags and LTC similar contract structure choices.

You can now submit your Franchise or Transition tags (as well as set RFA tenders) at the bottom of your team roster.

Remember, you can only do 1 Franchise tag OR 1 Transition tag. You can also automatically choose your contract extension for Exclusive Franchise tag. Keep in mind that any short-term 2- or 3-year choices will have a NO TRADE clause for 1 year written into them.

Be careful when choosing. There will be no signed with no-trade clause now and then switching it to a longer extension without no-trade a month from now because someone wants to do a trade with you then. Make thoughtful decision now and then it's signed.

LTCs should be available sometime tonight. Teams will have 1 LTC per year for either a guy entering free agency or for a player on their last year under contract. The contract choice structures will be the same but the annual amount based upon players at their position with similar grades.

If you do a non exclusive franchise tag can you still extend him later?

You can, but only if they receive no offers on the open market for you to consider matching. Once they get a bid, you will have to either match that offersheet bid or not.

I want to see how quickly they are being made. Earliest deadline would be by Friday and get FA started by this weekend. That would work well with some teams mentioned schedules and get our FA started before the NFL's draft. But if decisions going really slow, we'll just wait for a couple weeks. With trades turned on, thinking we'll get these decisions in by this week but we'll see how many are doing that.

Alright, thanks.

I'm screwed no matter what decisions I make anyways.

The lack of RFAs is going to kill me.

Oh well. Its going to sting a little.

I've added more RFAs. Initially mistake by me. I grabbed NFL rosters a couple weeks ago and uploaded the new experience listed, and when making RFAs looked at 3 years or less experience. But guys listed with 4 years actually had 3 years going into their 4th year. So made those guys RFAs now. Didn't add a ton, but a couple important ones in some leagues. Another issue with RFAs and player data upload had to do with current players who aren't on real teams then so not listed on team rosters used, so their data wouldn't have been updated. So if you have a guy with 3 years of NFL experience or less and think he should be a RFA, let me know. Might be something with the data that didn't automatically update him correctly. thanks
