Dates aren't a huge deal to me as I can adjust on the fly, but I think that starting the draft on Saturday, and having the entire weekend to get it going would be ideal for maximum participation.

Since FA has a 24 hour clock, and generally takes 2-3 times longer to complete, starting it at anytime really doesn't make much difference. Everyone should be able to check in once a day at the minimum.

Trades Allowed

Trades should be active now for players under contract. For the first day or two pay close attention to how the trades are processed to ensure they've been correctly updated for the new season. If any problems with how a trade gets processed, let me know. The trade link is on your team roster page.

I'll work on LTCs/tags/RFAs next.

I have some of the tagging mechanisms done you'll see at the bottom of your team roster. Let me know if you notice any problems. We'll have a submit button there soon to finalize those decisions. Almost no RFAs with our longer rookie contracts (NFL didn't have many either outside of one big one) so really comes down to tag decisions. Perhaps we can get tags entered by the end of the week and start FA as soon as Friday. That's one possibility.

Remember, you'll be able to do only 1 Franchise/Transition tag + 1 LTC. Even though you can't do them quite yet in the system, you should be able to figure out what you want to do there.

So the "Exclusive 5-year (200% of salary SB) Franchise Tag"... Is that the same thing as LTC?

Friday would be a pretty quick turnaround. If we were to start then, I think a league wide email should probably be sent out soon. Also, have we decided on LTCs? What are the trade rules? When do we LTC a player? Will that just be in a post? Or will there be an automated tool?

Sooner, the trade rules are the exact same as franchise players.

(if you do a 4 or 5 year contract, they're tradeable)
