We can. There are one or two I had in mind. I'm open to other suggestions also via PM or replied here. There were a couple discussed earlier that I'm still thinking about in general.
The biggest rule changes to me are going to come with the labor issues being resolved and whatever new reality the NFL finds in regards to free agency, draft, contracts, roster sizes, cap, etc.
I'd like the differentiator for this league to be reality and as little artificial rules outside of that as we can, but I know we're different and need some sim rules too.
Honestly last year was a tough one for me to keep up with the league. I hadn't been able to progress with expanding it as much as hoped because I didn't have the time, so time and excitement were an issue sometimes with keeping up with things.
I probably need to go one way or the other with things, where I either get back in gear in taking the site to a level I'd hoped before (lots of sports, lots of leagues, better tools) where I can get re-energized around things or take a day-to-day management step back and just build more back-end controls for others and turning more over on the dailiy management to volunteers or even other commissioners where I just did some programming from time-to-time when needed for others to manage and just had fun running a team with everyone else.
My thought is I'm going to try to do both in some ways as I'd really like to start working on new features for the site again including some to where other leagues could use some of the tools too with more independent commish management tools. And if I got too busy again someday or had to miss some time, there could be a switch to flick with activating some tools to allow others to step up more also as part of the new features.
I am no longer working two jobs as I was much of the football season. I just finished a big presentation last Friday that we'd been working on for months. I think I'll have some time now to devote toward enhancements now, but that's always a sitaution in flux. Also have a week long vacation at the end of May.
Some of the sim-only rules may be impacted by where I can adjust the site in general this off-season, and how I position some of the other games around a central theme of reality-based simulation in gemeral.
If I can expand to add more leagues and get more newcomers playing, I'll probably have to add more tools for trade approval processes and avoiding some issues you get with a broader base of less experienced players in new leagues sometimes testing the limits, but I'd set some of those things up hopefully that could be turned on for one league and off for another as needed. In those cases, I don't really have much specifics yet on what to turn on or off per league so the polling would have to be more general with some details still in the works.
