Week 15 simmed. This weekend's games are going to be a little different in the NFL with a ton of them on Saturday before Christmas. So we'll probably have to lock depth charts before the Saturday games. If you have a player going on Sunday, and want to make a change involving players who haven't played yet, you can always send me a PM when depth charts locked to make changes if none of the players being moved in the depth chart have played that week.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Yes. I collected all the grade data and am working on updates to the player database.

We're a bit on standby mode as we wait on what the NFL is going to do with scheduling following the tragic incident and football game being suspended. Hopefully Damar Hamlin is okay most importantly.

League activity is certainly not as important as real life, but what the NFL does with that game will have an impact on what we do within reason and if decisions are fairly timely (as we try to mirror the NFL where we can). As it stands, one option if it's looking like that game won't ever be played is to treat it like a bye week for our purposes here for players on those teams for sim stats. If the game is postponed to the end of the season or something else, we'll have to think more on options for our sim scheduling and stat incorporation.

Now that we're past week 16, grades have been adjusted.

- Madden grades have been updated (to where they were after week 16 evaluations).

- As we instituted last season, players with higher PFF grades get bonus points (max 1-3, lowest grades eligible for most bonus). 225 players were given bonus points for higher PFF grade. PFF and Madden grades were collected after week 16. See data output below. Let me know if you believe a player wasn't updated as they should have been. We use the OFF and DEF grades for those for the PFF grades. Hybrid grades including a Madden baseline and any PFF extra points have been updated.

Here are the PFF bonuses added to Madden grades:

Re: 2022 SEASON UPDATE

Post by Goodell »

The NFL has officially declared the Bills and Bengals' Week 17 game a no contest.
This means the game is no longer in a state of postponement and will not be made up. It also means all statistics that were accumulated up to the point of the Monday evening postponement will be null and void.
For us, as mentioned before, makes sense for us here to operate much like a bye week for players on those teams without game stats. If you have a player from those NFL teams your week 17 sim performance for them will be based upon an averaged game like it would be in a bye week.

I might do a quick poll to get quick reaction on whether or not we treat it entirely like a bye week with those BUF/CIN sim teams not playing in week 17 as it'll be in the NFL with those franchises playing one less game. Or if we just sim that game as those sim teams have different players and different simulated realities here, so that all our sim teams play the same number of games and we wouldn't have some of the NFL's current issues.

More to think about here with more NFL information to come for consideration, but we wouldn't have to worry about some of the neutral site or other real world or NFL standing considerations.
Profootballtalk reports the NFL's owners will convene via videoconference Friday to discuss AFC playoff seeding in the wake of the expected cancellation of Bills/Bengals.

Week 17 has been simmed.

Coming to the end of the regular season! Free agency closes at the end of the regular season to avoid situations like signings other teams' practice squad guys while teams are out of the playoffs and perhaps not checking on their team since finished for the year so they don't lose players unfairly. So if there is anybody you want to get under contract this season, you have until we sim our version of week 18 in the upcoming week.

Week 18 has been simmed, and that's a wrap on the regular season! By tomorrow within each league thread here, I'll post the post-season matchups and further playoff game details. Depth charts are unlocked. Playoff teams make sure to fine tune your lineups for the postseason.

At the start of the playoffs we boost injury levels up one notch from week 18 for players out of the NFL playoffs no longer playing this year (who aren't on IR out for the season). That's been done. We'll still update real injury status from the NFL official injury report for those in NFL wildcard games ahead.

After our Super Bowls, we typically go into a period of off-season rules discussions. I'll mostly be focused this off-season on implementing some of the things we've discussed in the past but hadn't quite programmed yet, but reply here or send me a PM with any potential league rule changes you'd like to see. Our new league year would start here in March typically after the NFL picks back up with their new league year after their free agency starts. I'll be working on transitioning league finances for the new season and getting up team check-ins earlier in March.
