2019 DRAFT DATES

Post by Goodell »

The system is loaded up for the college draft, so now we just need to set a time. Looking briefly through the check-in messages, I don't think we'll have any big conflicts if we do our draft reasonably close to the NFL draft. As we got later into May and summer more conflicts came up.

The earliest we can do our draft is after the NFL's draft day 1, because we need the NFL draft order as a default for teams not online during their pick windows.

We do round 1 on our day 1, then 2 rounds a day for the next 3 days. Once a start date set, we'll assign pick windows for each selection. You don't have to be online all the time for the draft, just show up for your pick window to select or have players in your draft queue to get your highest ranked player when your pick is up.

Doing it at the same time as the NFL draft seems awfully quick. I prefer to at least wait 1 week to do our drafts.

As I'm getting married the weekend of May 3. I voted for the following week. If the ceremony wasn't that weekend, that's what I would have voted for.

I don't understand the rush to have our draft when the real draft is still going on. I know that it won't be the same round but my goodness can we at least have a week to process the results of the real draft. I'm sorry but I don't get why GM's are voting for the 27th? Unless you have a scheduling conflict for the weekend of the 4th I think that its ridiculous that we are even considering doing it that quick and I'm even more stunned that so many GM's are voting for it. I guess some GM's can't wait to have 3 months of nothing to do. Sigh.

I'm usually in this boat, I just happen to be free the first weekend this year. I don't like the extended down time. It sucks.

I agree as well. I would like to sit and enjoy the draft on Saturday. I believe getting a week to process the results and go back to finish draft board is more ideal. Patience people.

Boys you don't have to "get it". You don't have to "understand" why someone voted one way or another. I don't get why a bunch of yas voted for Trump but it was your right.

I completely agree, Ritz, for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would have voted for Franken-Hillary but, hey, that's your right and I don't have to get it.
