Are we going to use real life comp. picks for the drafts in the 2 new leagues since we didn't do our own free agency or not give out comp. picks at all this year?

Yes, for the EFFL and FFFL since no free agency last year here, our sim teams will inherit the real NFL comp picks for those new leagues. This will be the last year for that, though, as comp picks next year will be based upon sim free agency. Thanks!

Is trading going to get opened? Seems like we need at least a couple days to get deals done before FA starts.

I have to agree with Jared, I think that we should at least have a few days of trading open before we start the free agency period. I would be okay with pushing the start of free agency back a week to the 24th or even possibly starting it on Friday the 21st.

If trading opens today, FA can remain Monday! I'm sure most people have deals already agreed upon.

Appreciate all the feedback, but the league will make announcements regarding league activities when they've available. Tagged players can no longer be traded as impacted free agency in the past but not this year. Nothing is preventing 99.4% of our teams (159 out of 160) from placing a day 1 bid in free agency now. You DO NOT have to clear out $x dollars of cap space to make an $x bid. You just have to be below the cap to be eligible to bid which almost all of our teams are now.

I would assume the process is made complicated by chasing down the real life comp picks and things of that nature with the new leagues being implemented so thank you for any and all work being put into FanGM. From the game itself to the willingness to send personal messages when someone is in need, I personally can't thank you enough. No need to rush in any way.

I guess that's fine. My only concern is that a lot of the "deals" will be predicated on taking a GM's word on "handshake" deals.

I've never really had any issues with that, but I always feel better making bids knowing exactly where I stand.

Will trading open up at the same time?

My hope is that trading may open up tonight or tomorrow. Trading may open up sooner in the new leagues as I have all their draft orders set but still working through comp picks in the older leagues based upon last year's free agency. A couple other small trade script changes to make based upon this year's rules changes. However, I'd expect trading will be open to all tomorrow if not tonight.
