2017 Off-Season Update

Post by Goodell »

Teams can now check-in for the upcoming season from their team roster page. Please leave a comment if you notice any roster issues, have serious scheduling conflicts in April/May to consider for FA/Draft dates, or if you aren't going to be back next year so we can look for replacements. Now is a great time if you know someone who'd like to play here to have them (a) register on the site and (b) post a message on the waiting list thread to get in line.

I am currently on vacation this week on the road, but will try to check in for finishing up rules discussions. Hoping that when I'm back next week we'll know how many GMs need to be replaced and can jump into that prior to the new league year off-season starting sometime in April.

As always, the last part of April, first week in May... I will be heading up to the camp. It usually takes me 1 week to get power and internet on the island.

This year, it appears it will be April 24th - May 1st.

Actual draft isn't until April 27th, so I'd hope we wouldn't start until later the next week?

Well... we will need to get FA rolling right away then. Otherwise, I'm going to be gone.

I'm not nearly as worried about the draft as I am not being available the first couple days in FA>

After we expanded to two more leagues last year, I was a little worried that each off-season we'd have to deal with a lot more openings and trying to fill those spots. However, I'm pleasantly surprised with how many people have already check in at each league. Not a lot of openings.

In fact I think I have more people wanting their first team than we'll have openings. We had a couple of people this off-season already with multiple teams offer up one of their extra teams for someone without a team.

I'd really appreciate (and I'm sure the potential new owners would also) if a couple of people with multiple teams would be willing to give up one of their teams so someone new could join.

Just send me a PM if you're in that situation where you have multiple teams and willing to give up one of your teams for someone new. Thanks!
