Madden 2010 Ratings

I found a list of the free agent ratings on NFL.com, of all places. Here's the link: http://madden.nfl.com/ratings/team/free_agents?con=ng

It's missing some, but great find!

Are we going to use these to update the grades for everyone with 0 but are on the list?

Yeah, we'll update when receive official info comes out from them. As that's from the source, we'll use that to update those players (with the exception of the ones suspended and who can't play and can't contribute toward strength on the field if in jail, etc.) in the coming days -- with the different formatting (first initial instead of full name as the other lists) that'll probably have to be more of a manual update that takes a little longer to avoid error. And hopefully the company will put out weekly updates as they did last year, which we'll continue to update as info available.

One thing to keep in mind with free agents, though. Usually the info we get in mid-season ignores those types of players later. If a guy has a nice grade but no team in football wants him, even if Madden doesn't update his grade publically we'll probably knock all those guys down ourselves at some point in the season if no real team wants them. Often those guys just may not be in the update list because not active anymore, but we wouldn't keep a high grade if can't play in the league in reality. So more than anything for personnel decisions, go with the reality of the player over the grade in Madden because those will eventually shift where they should be.

Can we look to see if Zac Diles has a grade and it didn't register for him because he's listed as "Zach Diles" on my roster. If he dosen't have a grade he should since he had been named the starter for Houston.

Good news: Madden released Update #3 today.

Bad news: It only lists the players that have had changes but doesn't give the actual new ratings.

I've been checking the Madden site the past week, and it just so happens that you knew it was out today.

I have a couple of ways to check. Pastapadre.com usually posts when it is up, I follow Donny Moore (the guy who is in charge of the NG updates) on Twitter, and I randomly check the EA forum.

I do think it's a little odd that Warner went down. Specifically, they said they lowered his accuracy. Could be they looked more at Week 1 - he only completed 26 of 44 then with 2 INTs.

Warner has the best accuracy of any QB in the entire league, and he has proven that time and time again, including week 2.

I think its a bit silly to knock him down for one subpar game (by his standards), but its not a major deal either way.

I just found it odd.
