2013 Draft Date

Also, just to be clear, I really wasn't bothered with the smaller time windows, just the 2 rounds per day really stacked up the workload it seemed like. Especially by the 7th round. I do have 2 teams, maybe that's part of it, also late in the semester & getting ready for finals and all that good stuff. I realize that out of 96 or however many gms there are going to be scheduling conflicts any old way we set it up, such is life with 90 others involved. And I realize that this discussion isn't going to affect anything this year, this is feedback for next year. It was hectic for me this year, more so than usual, but I managed. I was pretty darn relieved when it was over too.

I will say that the third day was rough for me with 5 picks (and I just have one team). I actually had two get made by my draft cue which I had set up the night before. I don't know that only having three picks would have made it easier, as it's the time of day that becomes an issue for me. I teach band, so I can't be at my desk when I have a class in the room. All that said, I truthfully did NOT do a ton of prep for this draft until the NFL draft started. I used the information that is readily available on this site (the links and info are fantastic, by the way) and did probably 8-10 hours of outside prep total during the last week. Maybe some of you feel that reflects itself in a poor draft for me; time will tell. But, no system will ever make every one happy. One round per day or all seven in one day, some will be happy and some won't. At this point, I'm just happy this activity exists!
