If we are trying to keep things as real as possible, why does Oakland DFFL have 91 players? Only allowed 90 and you can't ever go over.

We follow the 90 player limit, but give teams a couple of days to get under if they go over the limit. It looks like Oakland signed someone on 5-5, so I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

Re: Tag/RFA Bids

Goodell wrote:As free agency is starting to slow down, let's make this the last week for any last bids on any RFA or tagged players. We need to have those all resolved prior to our draft as they can impact draft order. Friday 5/13 is the last day to bid on any restricted/tagged players.

If you RFA doesn't get any bids, they'd be on their 1-year salary that's listed on the team roster page. If your franchise tagged player doesn't get any bids after this week, you'll have some options to extend their contracts at franchise tag price.
Let's also make Friday the last day for any unlimited bids on your own UFAs. After Friday, any UFA will lose their team association and all just become street free agents.

AFFL Opening

Post by Goodell »

ctnreds let me know that he was stepping down from the AFFL Jets. Hopefully he'll be back someday. That creates an opening I'd like to fill before our draft.

Who is eligible? We'd primarily be looking for GMs who have shown well in either the CFFL or DFFL in previous seasons and earned respect from the community, as I often as AFFL GMs for their opinions on possible new AFFL players.

How to apply? Send me a PM. Even if you've sent a PM in the past about your interest, send a new one now for this new opening. In your message let me know why you think you'd be a good addition to AFFL (including league performance and activity). It may not be required, but ideally someone would come up to the AFFL giving up their other league team to a new GM, as openings are the only ways we get new people in when not expanding leagues. In your message let me know if you'd be willing to swap your team for AFFL opening or not. Please submit your case/interest this week.

I get lots of messages about people wanting a second team. In reality, almost every new opening (especially in CFFL/DFFL) we try to almost always give to a new GM on the wait list. With very few exceptions in recent years the only time people get another team is when we launch a new league entirely and just can't find 32 brand new people to get the league going. As we haven't expanded leagues for a while we have to save those opening opportunities for getting new people into the action. Let me know if any questions. Thanks

I think once he gets candidates that are interested, then he will bring it up to vote to the AFFL community.

I really wish we were starting the draft on a Saturday instead of Friday, but I know it was voted on. Not everyone has access during working hours.

Nut what about mobile? Have you tried it on your smartphone? It's not too bad, not the best but doable.
