I don't think we will find a time that meets everyone's needs. For instance, I'll be out of the country from May 8-May 24 so I'd prefer to either get all draft and free agency done before or after.

I wouldn't mind seeing 2 weeks apart start of FA then the NFL draft, that way the big wave of FA should be pretty much done.

With FA less than a week away, will we see trades opened soon?

Our check-in form I believe asks for upcoming scheduled conflicts so that I can try to factor some of that into these decisions. Some things are out of our control, but wish I would have known about some others.

Big mess of differing opinions, but here's the deal. I set up the options of doing FA and draft fairly close together or far apart based upon the limited feedback I received from the checkout form of some people unavailable at different times in May some for extended period of time. So the options that made the most sense were to get everything done earlier before some people said they were out or space it out further after.

I know not everyone will agree, but there is no scenario where they would.

I've already put the FA date out there so we're going with that, and we'll wait a bit before the draft date set. Based upon some feedback and new unavailability, leaning towards that being later.
Thanks for the flexibility. It's impossible to please everyone.

I missed putting in my dates when I checked in. Guess I was too excited.

I understand we're not going to pick a date that's convenient for everyone but I don't like when events are scheduled so close together that a GM can't to participate in either. Both are big events. I can live with missing one or the other. However, I do think it's a bit unfair for a GM to miss both. Maybe I'm the only person this time but I do think they should be spaced enough that if one GM misses free agency, they can still participate in the draft, or vice versa. Also, I'm not of the opinion that free agency can be wrapped up in 10 days time.

That said, I'm flexible and will make it work with however the leagues decide.

I agree in not having them so close but will everyone who is going to be missing one or the other be completely without internet access?

I may end up having internet connection but I’m not positive. No way to know for sure until I get there, so I’m not planning on it.

Not sure why we need to rush through both but I'm not surprised that's the popular vote either. I'm good with any of the dates, but prefer not to rush. I say pick the top 2 and do votes again and then just go with the most popular. That's probably the most fair way, as pleasing everyone is going to be impossible.

I freely admit I enjoy the draft more then FA, generally speaking, so having the draft close to the draft IRL is ideal to me, under normal conditions.

I fully understand not wanting to bunch everything together as well.

My only true preference is to start the draft on the weekend (preferably Sat, so we can get as many picks in the early rounds over Sat-Sun), and that we don't wait until June to do the draft, which is prime time for baseball drafts, and the beginning of vacation season for many.

So, any weekend in May (except Mother's Day weekend), and I'm good with it.
