Re: 2021 RULES: Suggestions
On this last topic somebody just offered Tunsil 4 years at $13 M including the SB in the AFFL. His salary in the NFL is almost double that. Either he is getting a sweetheart deal from Tunsil's owner or he is incredibly stupid thinking that Tunsil's GM won't match that. Either way that contract (and Wards) affects the integrity of our league and it is contracts like this that scream for the league to change the rules.

While I don't necessarily disagree. The bids do have to last 24 hrs and 30 other gms could counter, if they thought it was such a steal. I dont see very many getting bid on as it is. So if you make it too pricey, then you won't ever have tagged players leaving.

Re: 2021 RULES: Suggestions
The contract should be worth a certain per cent of the tag, and I'm not talking 50%. I don't know the other GM involved and I don't follow who vouches for who as a "buddy" to get into the league but an offer this egregious should be looked at and if some sort of collusion is discovered the GM's involved should be banished from the league. (In my other sports leagues since I am in my 60's this is known as the old man is yelling at the clouds again LOL).

There are restrictions on bids for franchise tagged players:
Franchise player bids must also be at least 75% of the NFL-determined annual salary for franchise players in the top 5 of their positions plus the balance in signing bonus so the cap/yr is at least the same as tag value...
The franchise tag for an OL is $13,754,000.

Would it be possible to make it where FA opens 24 hours before start time and everyone can put their bids in. Then all clocks would start at FA start time and have 24 hours countdown clock.

I don't think you should be able to sign a loophole 1 year contract and transition it into a value LTC either. That's just exploiting AI
Re: 2021 RULES: Suggestions
I think the tender amount should be the floor offer as well
Re: 2021 RULES: Suggestions
You should change the Cap Limit to 185,000,00 because I researched it and that's what it said. As you said were trying to be realistic as we can being a real GM and the NFL it self. I'm not sure if that 100% accurate I just thought to put it out there.

Re: 2021 RULES: Suggestions
We do use the NFL salary cap. There was some uncertainty about it later than usual this year, but when our off-season kicked off there were official announcements from the NFL regarding the salary cap for this season set at 182,500,000 which we are using.
https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-2021-salar ... -5-million
If there is new information out from the league regarding changes to that, we'll look at it. In some cases, there may be reports of salary caps for some teams being higher but that's typically based upon that team carrying over extra money unspent from the previous season so their cap includes more money than the league baseline for all teams that we use. Our teams can also carry unspent cap over from one year to the next to increase their cap the next season (up to 10M).
