Free agency and draft dates

Post by Goodell »

Wanting to make sure people have enough time to plan, so had a couple start dates in mind. These aren't official yet, but giving people a chance to let me know if big problems with the dates. Of course we aren't going to be able to find the perfect dates for hundreds of players, but if multiple people have massive conflicts with the dates it would be something we'd look at moving around.

Free agency start: April 28 (day before the NFL draft hopefully sparking people to jump on here)
College draft: May 15-18 (misses Mother's day, before Memorial Day weekend)

These aren't official, but wanted to pencil something in and start to get feedback.

Because of late May activities for me (wife's birthday, 20th anniversary, Memorial Day weekend), if not then we might have to push into June then perhaps more people having other plans in the sun and we get further from the draft.

With the focus being on that weekend, could the draft start on Thursday or Friday versus Saturday?

Those dates work fine for me too. I much prefer the draft start on Saturday versus a weekday.

Will the draft still be able to be done via a phone like previously? I’ll be on the road that weekend but can still do the draft with my phone as long as the new site allows?

May 15-16 are not good for me. I'll be camping in the Redwoods with no cell service. I think we always start over the weekend but weekdays work just as well for me. In this case with late May out, June would work best for me personally.

Hopefully we can work around Knight since he’ll be off the grid. I can make any dates around that time frame work.

The college draft over the weekend is a tough one for me too. We have travel baseball tournaments, etc right now so I'm not sure I'll be able to be on at the appropriate time depending on schedule. M-R work better, but totally understand if I need to set a queue and auto pick up.
