I encourage everyone to go through it and double check spellings of names. Often the people at Madden don't have the spelling correct on the list. I've corrected as many as I could catch, but there may be a few more. I'm not sure how spelling mismatches affect the update in our system (Troy, are there any problems with that?).

Overall, this was the biggest update yet.

I have it automatically update the database for entries that match perfectly and involve player names without a duplicate, and I get the results of which entries don't fit that and I manually make those remaining adjustments. So we shouldn't miss any. The more automatic matches, the less manual adjustment though so that's great.

I added a permanent link to the forms to enter weekly game update stats in a temporary place on the scoreboard page. http://www.fangm.com/football/weeklyupdate.php

I'm trying to find better ways of doing this stats update, but if we keep doing it this way all year I'll probably try to form a group of guys who have been great help so far and have volunteers tackle 2-3 games. Besides the AFFL/CFFL/DFFL links I've previously added an NFL link which will list players by their real NFL team so that people entering stats can look at one game boxscore and update everybody from that team more efficiently. If 4 guys plus myself can tackle that the rest of the way most weeks each would only have to look up 2 or 3 games and enter all the game stats from that boxscore on one page. And every other GM could still look up their game stats by their league/team and still either verify or enter stats for their own guys.

There is one more thing I want to do with the grade updates (as mentioned cutting down grades for free agents who no NFL team wants to add to their team and Madden probably ignoring in their weekly updates by now) and still have to tweak the strength grade average if a team has a ton of injuries and not enough players to fill the spots mathematically, but otherwise still hoping to get games simmed tomorrow.

Also I heard that this site www.mrnfl.com had downloadable stats that we might be able to use to automate the weekly updates. However, I can't access it from work so I will have to check it out later.

I mentioned reducing the player grades for guys without real teams after 4 weeks as they probably won't be in Madden weekly updates without being active and shouldn't stay at high grades if not currently wanted in the NFL enough to be on a team. Some of those guys may land on a team as the season goes along, and then hopefully included in a Madden update as their play warrants and then they'd be updated along with the other players mentioned each week.

I checked players with grades above 5.0 (70 M), but will post the list in case I missed someone. Just let me know. Otherwise I'll reduce those player grades by 25% just as if they were listed as doubtful if they are sitting at home on the coach and as such not really worthy of a strong grade currently that they might have had on some Madden free agents list before. Guys who aren't listed below who had lower than a 5.0 grade (70M) will also have their grades reduced if not listed with a real team currently but that's too many to list or check individually (and most of the time grades too low to factor in most depth charts), but if you see one of your players grades reduced and click on their name to notice they aren't associated with a real NFL team but should be just let me know and I'll correct. These are just the higher rated guys who'll make more of a difference so wanted to post in case I missed someone who really is on a team and shouldn't have their free agent grade adjusted. Thanks.
