I am confused about 2nd round pick contracts.
"2018: UFA or Option - Top 10 (franchise $), pick 11-32 (transition $)"
I was under the impression they would be controlled after 4 years on the rookie contract. Anyone care to explain further.

I am curious, why do we rush to do the draft every year right away and then basically have like 3 months of silence? I feel this benefits the teams that can do crazy amounts of research in a short time and for what purpose?

Remember, last minute bids aren't always everyone's last minute. We have owners in Europe and Asia and across the US, that is 6-8 different time zones we are talking about.
