We have recently changed our counter-offer requirements to utilize a more sophisticated bid comparison tool
that will allow for different structured deals to be fairly compared. The bid score for various bids is calculated as follows:
Multiplier (1 + half of guaranteed percentage of contract SB/total + highest total value percentage bonus)
x [ 3 x Total contract value in millions (salary+RB*years + SB)
+ Guaranteed $ (Signing Bonus so that gets counted twice as also in total above)
+ 5 x Cap hit per year (salary+RB + sb/yr) ]
Counters must be 10% higher bid score to be successful (less if low bid score values or UDFA).
- If no SB guaranteed money, salary+RB 5% increase required as previously and only requirement for successful counter no matter bid score.
