Playoff Updates (player stats)

Post by RebelFan »

The averaged weekly performance for playoffs, does it come from that players league stats or from real life average? Because my dffl version of russel Wilson has much better stats (and hence, average) than real life Russel Wilson.
Couldn't remember how that works, but seems like a gyp if it's back to real-life stats.
Thanks for another great season Commish, & for all your hard work!

It comes from the real NFL stats.

A couple reason for that, and perhaps changes to that could be brought up in the off-season for future season rule changes.

- Whenever we put in a game update for anything, it's always from real games. If a player has a bye during the season, we use averages from real games. If they play a real game, their update is from real game. That's part of the sim's basic setup, merging real stats and adjusting those with supporting cast grades. Perhaps part of the reason Wilson did better for you is because of good grades, which would also translate to helping him in the post-season with a good supporting cast. If we used sim averages, which were aided by good supporting cast grades, and then add additional performance bonuses to those raised averages in the post-season because of good grades, it almost is like doubling the impact of good grades and making grades much more important than reality beyond the intention.

- Game updates are uploaded for a player across the board in all leagues. When I collect stats or generate averaged games, I don't have to do it 3 different times for 3 different leagues. I do it once and it applies to all leagues. If I had to always do sim averages instead of real game averages, it would vastly multiply the amount of work involved especially if we grow to more leagues if Player X has 3+ different sim game averages to calculate versus one NFL game average to apply universally.
