COMPENSATORY PICKS

Post by Goodell »

Before finalizing the draft setup, besides filling in some of the missing teams we also have to set the compensatory picks from last off-season's free agency. That free agency tracking was updated in progress during the last free agency period, as well as currently posted on the league homepages. These are the preliminary compensatory pick decisions based upon free agency loss/gains last year, let me know if any problems noted or issues before finalizing the draft order.

In addition to the 32 picks in each round, there are a total of 32 picks awarded at the ends of Rounds 3 through 7. These picks, known as "compensatory picks," are awarded to teams that have lost more qualifying free agents than they gained the previous year in free agency. Teams that gain and lose the same number of players but lose higher-valued players than they gain also can be awarded a pick, but only in the seventh round, after the other compensatory picks.

I have the revised draft order now loaded in the system. I still need to double-check things, so let me know if you see something odd.

affl:

cffl:

dffl:

Your team roster should also have the specific pick listed under your draft assets. That's all still subject to these last minute checks to ensure the information in there correctly.

I'll load the draft pool of college players for 2011 (recently drafted) hopefully today. I'll turn on the trade tool for pick-for-pick transactions also hopefully soon.

Once those are in place, we'll put a poll up for preferred draft dates and start talking about when it'll actually happen. Getting closer now.

Let me know if any issues for your draft picks listed from links above. Thanks

Only thing i can see right off top of my head is that the comp picks are not the same in those links as what you posted above.

In affl the 4th round looks like draft pick 133 is missing?

edit again looks like there are a couple picks misisng i see missing pick 34 also in aFFl.

There are a couple that should be missing for supplemental draft picks last year (and those teams losing those picks this year), but does seem to be more missing than should and I'll check into it. thanks

Goodell wrote:Wondering if anyone knows Alex S. He is a good GM with two teams but hasn't checked in since early November last year. When I tried to email him, the email bounced. Added his and a couple other teams as "at risk" and there are a couple more candidates for at-risk teams if their GMs don't respond or check in soon. I have a handful or more of new GMs ready to jump in and fill in the openings, but we could have more if anyone knows of a potential player send them this way. Trying to get those all sorted out so we can start soon.
Any luck getting a hold of him?
